I have endometriosis—a chronic illness in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside of the uterus. This painful condition has, at times, made it difficult to manage day-to-day tasks and has been physically and mentally draining.
Walking through my endometriosis journey opened my eyes to how our medical system doesn’t always listen to or support women’s health. I’ve had both positive and negative experiences in medical settings, but the difficult ones left me feeling misunderstood, confused, and frustrated. Those moments created a deep desire in me to help give women a voice when it comes to their health and wellbeing.
That desire eventually led me to the birth world. I realized that many women experience similar dismissal or lack of support during pregnancy and labor, and I knew I wanted to make a difference. I felt called to help women feel safe, heard, and empowered throughout their pregnancy journey.
When I learned what a doula was, I immediately knew this was the calling God was leading me into. Birth is a powerful experience where women can learn to trust their bodies and surrender to the Lord’s perfect design. I am so excited for the amazing mothers and families God will bring into my life, and I am honored to support, uplift, and advocate for them as they walk through such a meaningful season.

A doula is a certified professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. A midwife is a medical professional that provides care for both mom and baby during the pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period to make sure that they are both safe and healthy.
Evidence based birth states that with a doula you are more likely to have spontaneous vaginal births and less likely to have any pain medication, epidurals, negative feelings about childbirth, vacuum or forceps-assisted births, and Cesareans. In addition, labors can be shorter by about 40 minutes on average, and babies are less likely to have low Apgar scores at birth (an Apgar score is a measure of a baby’s immediate health at birth). There is some evidence that doula support in labor lowers the rates of postpartum depression. There is no evidence that there are any negative effects of doula support.

Not at all! In fact, it is encouraged for your partner or support person be at the consolation and prenatal appointments. A big part of a doulas role is helping guide and support your partner, too - giving them confidence, clarity, and practical ways to be present and helpful during your birth. We are a team, and I want everyone involved to feel prepared and connected.
